ABOUT US

Ciavonne, Roberts & Associates, Inc., Landscape & Planning Architects, is a full service Urban & Regional Planning and Design firm. The firm was founded in Grand Junction in 1982 with a commitment to serve Western Colorado and to make a positive and lasting impact on the landscape of the region. We fulfill this commitment by providing our clients with alternative plans, designs and strategies.

At Ciavonne, Roberts & Associates, we pride ourselves in providing a
wide range of planning and design services for the public and private sectors, from the details of an entry sign to the overall vision of a community. We strongly believe in a team approach to planning and design. An integral part of this approach is personal communication with other professionals such as managers, architects, engineers, and the contractors building a project. This approach has allowed us to participate as well as lead teams through many successful projects.

Fruita River Front Action Plan
Receiving the Governor’s Award for Outstanding Efforts in Smart Growth and Development, this project inventoried the opportunities and constraints of a threatened riverfront open space, prepared alternative concepts for various levels of development, and suggested methods and timetables for achieving a preferred alternative. This plan was the catalyst for the siting and construction of a state park, a follow-up corridor study and a rewrite of the City of Fruita Comprehensive Plan. To this day, this document is facilitating good planning and design in the South Fruita area.

Fruita Sportspark
Receiving the Governor’s Award for Outstanding Efforts in Smart Growth and Development, this Master Plan addressed phased development of sport fields and facilities between the three partners: the City of Fruita, the School District, and Mesa County.
Two phases are complete (bus loop, soccer field/baseball plaza),
and a third phase is under construction (tennis courts).

Third and Main Amphitheater
Receiving the Downtown Development Award for New Construction 1997, this project incorporated elements of the Historic Downtown Shopping Park into a corner
gathering spot and fountain.

Pixler Residence
Receiving the ALCC Excellence in Landscape Grand Award,
this residential project included design of all site elements including
grading, pavements, walls, landscape and irrigation.

Barnes and Noble Landscape
Receiving the ALCC Excellence in Landscape Merit Award 2000, this commercial project exceeded code requirements for parking lot and perimeter landscape, and attractively
dealt with on-site storm detention.
