This new retail center project included site planning and design of its surrounds, detention basin, and parking lot … balancing the requirements of the client, the City codes, and aesthetics. The design utilizes xeriscape principles in an effort to tie the project into the surrounding Grand Valley aesthetics.

Chinle Plaza

A redevelopment project requiring removal of existing asphalt to incorporate landscape and pedestrian elements where none previously existed. Parking areas were also reconfigured and landscaped. This is another xeriscape example where bold plant forms can create a relationship between a commercial center
and its surrounding environment.

Shaw Construction Offices

The original design of this site created awkward landscape situations that were difficult to maintain and ‘hid’ the front door. Rehabilitation of the site and landscape has improved architectural visibility, user orientation and access,
and landscape aesthetics.

Kokopelli Commercial Park

Planning and design for commercial parks should address: projections of types of uses; ratios of building square footage to parking spaces; landscape, pedestrian, and entry design requirements. Platted and constructed, this project includes maintained common areas, and design guidelines and covenants
that will benefit the entire community.
